Rock art, the site!
The Canada do Inferno site
is on of the most important sites in the Côa
Park(see more in
TRACCE Online Bulletin #5). The area is still menaced
in winter by the water of the river Douro river. Horses
and cows, palaeolithic style
figures over red vertical panels.
A huge gash in the rocky mountain
slope: the foot of the damned
dam, now projected to host a museum. A unique environmental
and archaeological victory, we hope forever.
